Historic Whiteside Cove Schoolhouse

The Historic Whiteside Cove Schoolhouse was constructed circa 1918 after the previous log building burned. It was used as a one-room schoolhouse until the 1930s.

In the mid-1930's 4 local families purchased the property from the Jackson County School Board and made the building a community center.  Since that time it has been used as a church and as a place for community events.

It is currently used between Memorial Day and Labor Day (except the 4th Sunday in July) by the Summer Chapel for their services.

The Barak Norton Family Reunion has been held here since the 1920s when it relocated from the Norton Cemetery.
